The Heart
The central organ of the cardiovascular system,
The Heart. It is located between the right and left lungs
in the middle of the chest. Two-thirds of it lies to the left of the
breastbone and the other third to the right. Your heart has four
chambers, the Left Atrium, Right Atrium, Left Ventricle, and the
Right Ventricle; all label in the diagram below. You have
four valves that let blood in but not out. So the heart pumps blood up
into an artery but doesn't let it back down.
